چکیده

Nanometer-thin rare-earth-transition metal (RE-TM) alloys with precisely controlled compositions and out-of-plane magnetic anisotropy are currently in the focus for ultrafast magnetophotonic applications. However, achieving lateral nanoscale dimensions, crucial potential device downscaling, while maintaining designable optomagnetic functionality is extremely challenging. Here we integrate nanosized Tb$_{18}$Co$_{82}$ ferrimagnetic alloys, having strong anisotropy, within a gold plasmonic nanoantenna array to design micrometer-scale crystal that exhibit abrupt narrow magneto-optical spectral features both field light incidence direction controlled. The Fano-type resonance arises through interference of individual nanoantenna's surface plasmons Rayleigh anomaly whole array, optical spectra, which demonstrate explain using Maxwell-theory simulations. This robust opens way conceptually new high-resolution sensors, as well building blocks plasmon-assisted all-optical magnetization switching RE-TM alloys.

Enhancement of the Magneto-Optical Kerr Effect in One- Dimensional Magnetophotonic Crystals with Adjustable Spatial Configuration

We studied magnetophotonic crystals (MPCs) with introduced magneticdefect layer sandwiched between magnetic and dielectric Bragg mirrors. Thesemagnetophotonic crystals have excellent capabilities to enhance reflection and Kerrrotation simultaneously. By adjusting spatial configuration such as repetition numbersof Bragg mirrors and thickness of magnetic defect layer, we a...

Local Normal Mode Coupling and Energy Band Splitting in Elliptically Birefringent 1D Magnetophotonic Crystals

An analysis is presented of wave-vector dispersion in elliptically birefringent stratified magneto-optic media having one-dimensional periodicity. It is found that local normal-mode polarization-state differences between adjacent layers lead to mode coupling and impact the wave-vector dispersion and the character of the Bloch states of the system. This coupling produces extra terms in the dispe...

One-way optical tunneling induced by nonreciprocal dispersion of Tamm states in magnetophotonic crystals.

We show that optical Tamm states (OTSs) with nonreciprocal dispersion can be formed at the boundary separating two different magnetophotonic crystals magnetized in the Voigt geometry. At the frequencies of the Tamm states, one-way optical tunneling can be achieved. The nonreciprocity features of OTSs originate from the simultaneous violation of reciprocity, time-reversal, and all related spatia...

Magnetophotonic Materials and Their Applications

Experimental and theoretical studies of light coupling to various magnetic nanostructured media and nanocomposites are briefly reported. Enhancement of the magneto-optical response is shown to occur when the constitutive materials of photonic crystals are magnetic. Transmission and reflection types of 1D magnetophotonic crystals (MPCs) have been studied. New possibility to enhance the magneto-o...

Magnetophotonic crystals—a novel magneto-optic material with artificial periodic structures{

When the constitutive materials of photonic crystals (PCs) are magnetic, or even only a defect in PCs is magnetic, the resultant PCs exhibit very unique optical and magneto-optical (MO) properties. They are called magnetophotonic crystals (MPCs) providing the spin-dependent nature in PCs. The strong photon confinement in the vicinity of magnetic defects results in large enhancement in linear an...
